Welcome. Learn piano in the privacy of your home from an uber-experienced musician who is proficient in worship, classical, pop (chord charts & symbols), musical theater, and a few other genres. I teach my students  not only  how to play the piano, but also  theory, music history, performance etiquette, and a little bit about the commercial recording industry. There is valuable performance experience too. All of this develops within an informal and fun environment.

I can work with just about any student so let's set up a month of trial lessons. You won't be disappointed!

About me

I studied business management and piano at the Eberhardt School of Business and Pacific Conervatory of Music where I studied with Dr. Rex Cooper. I hold degrees in both majors.  University of the Pacific is located in the San Joaquin Valley in the city of Stockton CA.

I’ve been teaching music for about 25 years in the Ventura County area where I travel-teach just about everywhere-including the Malibu area. I also work as a piano accompanist with local middle and high shool choirs and help lead worship at Reality Church Ventura.

My approach to teaching is very laid back. Students get enough pressure to keep progress steady without too much stress. I've found that allowing students to learn and question ideas and concepts at their own pace works for me. I am not opposed to baby steps and lots of review. And of course, lessons are tailored to the learning styles and personal tastes of each student.

“Experience proves that next to the Word of God, only music deserves to be extolled as the mistress and governess of the feelings of the human heart. Next to the Word of God, I give music the highest place in my life.”  -Martin Luther
